CLINICS

Asthma Clinic

Asthma affects at least two people in fifty. By understanding the condition and how to treat it, you can help yourself and the doctor keep your asthma under control.

The aims of this clinic are to:

- Educate patients about their asthma

- Monitor them and, where possible, improve their control and therefore their lifestyles

The nurses can advise or you may be referred by your doctor.

Diabetic Clinic

A diabetic service is provided by Dr Kamlow and our practice nurse who is fully trained in the care of diabetes.

Blood Tests And X-rays

Blood test are carried out at Burnham Clinic on Tuesday morning, Thursday afternoon and Friday morning by appointment. Please ring the Burnham Clinic on 782656 to make an appointment.

Cervical Screening

This important aspect of preventative medicine is readily available at the practice and appointments can be made to have this simple test undertaken by our practice nurses. Please make an appointment with the receptionist.

Well Person Clinics

Well person clinics are run to try to help you avoid illness. Attendance every three years is recommended.

Family Planning Services

Our nurses are qualified to advise on all aspects of family planning and Hormone Replacement Therapy, and will arrange for fitting of IUCDs and Hormone Implants by one of the GPs. Please make an appointment with the receptionist.

Non-NHS Examinations

The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. Please ask at reception for the charges for these services.

Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations

Please make an appointment at least eight weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception.

Flu Vaccinations

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for all patients over 65 years as well as those patients with asthma, bronchitis, heart, lung or kidney disease. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of clinic dates.
