RETHINK ADVOCACY

Essex All Age Advocacy service provides statutory and non-statutory advocacy for the community in Essex (excluding Southend, Thurrock & London boroughs). Advocacy is speaking up for individuals about issues that are important to them. We provide services for everyone, including people of different age groups, backgrounds and disabilities, who meet our criteria. Our staff are paid and volunteers.

WHAT IS ADVOCACY?

Independent advocacy empowers people who are vulnerable, and / or discriminated against, who need a stronger voice, by enabling them to express their own needs and make their own decisions.

Social Prescribing

https://connectwellessex.org.uk/activities/

Connect Well Essex is an online self-care self-referral tool containing over 400 local activities and services. ‘Social prescribing’ links patients with appropriate, non-medical support and guidance. In the same way that a patient with a prescription can get their medication easily from a pharmacist, they will be able to access the services that will help them improve their wellbeing here on Connect Well Essex.

This site features activities that can help people make positive changes in their lives and within their communities by linking to voluntary and community groups and other non clinical services that can help them to feel more involved in the community, meet new people, make some changes to improve health and wellbeing.
